Meet The Mini Marilyn – a pint-sized pocket rocket serving old-school Hollywood glamour with a distinctly twenty-first-century wink.

Created and performed by Sydney-based cabaret artist Elizabeth Evans, Mini is an affectionate love letter to the great leading ladies of stage and screen: glamorous, theatrical, playful and never afraid of an impractical amount of sparkle! Blending powerhouse vocals, comedy, dance, storytelling and good old-fashioned showmanship, she sits somewhere deliciously between vintage Hollywood starlet and your slightly naughty best friend at the bar.

Mini’s world is proudly colourful, joyfully inclusive and deliberately doesn’t take itself too seriously. Whether you’re one of the girls, the gays, the theys – or simply somebody who appreciates a fabulous frock and a cracking show tune – there’s always room for you at Mini’s table.

THE SHOWS

Mini currently has two full-length cabaret productions in her sparkly little suitcase.

The Mini Marilyn is the show that started it all: a cheeky, effervescent celebration of sisterhood, chosen family and fabulous women in music. Mini hosts the ultimate Girls’ Night Out, celebrating powerhouse female artists from across decades and genres.

Then Mini decided Hollywood needed her back.

Lights, Camera… Mini! rolls out the red carpet for a musical romp through the magic of the silver screen. From the glamour of classic Hollywood and the golden age of movie musicals to power ballads, pop culture and contemporary cinema, Mini celebrates the songs, characters and cinematic moments that have stayed with us long after the credits rolled.

It’s nostalgia with a modern twist: big vocals, comedy, glamour, tap dancing, fabulous costumes and enough cinematic references to keep the film buffs very busy.

At the heart of both shows is joyful escapism. Leave the emails, bills and doom-scrolling outside, grab something bubbly and spend the next seventy minutes somewhere considerably more sparkly.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN 2017…

The Mini Marilyn first strutted onto a stage in 2017, when Elizabeth created the character and original The Mini Marilyn cabaret.

Since then, Mini and her original production have been developed and performed across Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne, with Mini also appearing at venues, corporate events and special engagements as an MC, host and pop-up performer. In 2018, Elizabeth brought a little Mini energy to national television as one of the featured judges on Channel 7’s All Together Now.

What began as one cabaret has continued to grow into its own sparkly little universe, with the creation of Lights, Camera… Mini! expanding Mini’s repertoire and giving her a brand-new playground in which to misbehave.

Today, Mini Marilyn is the exquisite collision of vintage and modern Hollywood: celebrating the glamour and showmanship of days gone by while embracing the humour, inclusivity and fabulous chaos of the world we live in now.

She can sing. She can dance. She can tap. She can host.

She can probably fit another sequin on that costume.

And whether she’s performing in a cabaret room, theatre, corporate event or somewhere completely unexpected, Mini has one very simple mission:

Give people a fabulous night out.

Because the world is serious enough already, darling.
